Ending Extinction Basics: Module 1

In today's world, conservation is more challenging than ever. With the current rates of extinction and the threats facing wildlife worldwide, we all have a lot of work to do. Where to start? Understanding. During this course, students will learn the meaning and importance of biodiversity and genetic diversity; discover the definitions and examples of natural extinction, mass extinction, and accelerated extinction; and find out the causes of extinction, which species are most vulnerable to extinction, and why. Participants will then learn conservation strategies that can help end extinction, and see examples and case studies of conservation projects that have kept species from going extinct.
