Thank You for Your Feedback!

Penguins swimming underwater at San Diego Zoo.

We recently completed a survey, in which we asked you, our Academy members, for feedback on the content and capabilities of the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance Academy courses and platform. We received an overwhelming response, and many helpful comments and suggestions.

This is what we heard:

  • You primarily use the Academy for staff development.
  • You choose SDZWA Academy for the specialized content on species and animal care.
  • You want to see new courses focus on animal care, leadership development, and conservation.
  • You would love to see more aquatic content.

We will put all this feedback to good use, and work to improve the Academy. We are already seeking partners in the aquarium space to collaborate with us on new content.

Getting Better All the Time:

Giving Thanks for Doing Work that Makes Our Lives “Good for Something”

excellence beyond complianceBy James F. Gesualdi

To keep ahead, each one of us, no matter what our task, must search for new and better methods—for even that which we now do well must be done better tomorrow.
—James F. Bell

Giving thanks opens our hearts, and reminds us of the good all around us. Mindful of the ever-present good within which we exist, and which we can enlarge with our own thoughtful action, we are inspired toward greater progress for animals and each other. Drawing upon this true spirit of thanksgiving daily keeps us continuously improving, and raises our consciousness so that we may be better able to lift others sharing this journey.
