Adorable Times Four
Not only are these rodents of an unusual size, they're unusually cute, too! Four baby capybaras—the largest rodent species in the world—are on exhibit with their mom, Buttercup, and the rest of their group, in the Harry and Grace Steele Elephant Odyssey exhibit at the Zoo. The youngsters are scampering about and going for swims. Dad is—who else?—Wesley! You can see them on your next visit—as you wish.
Support World Rhino Day at the Safari Park
September 22 is World Rhino Day, and the Safari Park has a whole crash of activities planned to help spread the word about the plight of these majestic mammals. Guests can create their own Rhino Conservation Pledge Flags, meet with keepers and see special enrichment presentations, and have the chance to become Heroes for Wildlife and help San Diego Zoo Global with rhino conservation by joining the SDZG Wildlife Conservancy. The first 300 guests who attend will receive #rally4rhino wristbands. Come support rhinos!
Round Up Your Herd
Ready for some fall family fun? October 1-31, Kids Free presented by Mission Fed offers free admission to the Zoo and Safari Park for youngsters ages 3 to 11. Bring your wild ones to meet ours!
Safari Park to Glow with RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns
Lighting up the night this October at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park is an all-new, unique family friendly fall event, RISE of the Jack O'Lanterns! This is the first time this event is coming to San Diego, bringing with it more than 5,000 hand-carved illuminated jack o'lanterns created by professional artists and sculptors, arranged in creative ways along a 1/3-mile scenic walking trail—all set to an original music score produced exclusively for The RISE!
The parking lot in front of the Safari Park will be transformed into a spectacular, glowing spectacle of jack o'lantern artistry. Come see glowing depictions of celebrities, sports teams, classic cars, dinosaurs, and of course, zoo animals! This festive event takes place in the evening and requires an advance online ticket purchase from The RISE website for a pre-selected date/time. No day-of or on-site ticket sales. All ticket sales are through The RISE website only (the San Diego Zoo and Safari Park are not selling tickets to this event).

Two Ways to Enjoy Digital ZOONOOZ
San Diego Zoo Global's magazine, ZOONOOZ, is also available in a digital format.
