Join us August 15, 2010, at 5 p.m. for the first-ever collaborative fund-raiser for the San Diego Symphony and San Diego Zoo: Symphony on the Wild Side. This family affair features an evening of animals, music, food, and fun! It includes a buffet dinner accompanied by a Symphony concert with “an animal twist”, a petting zoo in Children’s Zoo, a Symphony instrument “petting zoo”, and other family-oriented activities. This joint effort between the Zoo and the Symphony promises to be festive and filled with the sounds of music and animals.It will benefit each organization’s education programs to enhance learning opportunities for San Diego’s most disadvantaged students.

Check-in begins at 4 p.m. at the San Diego Zoo entrance plaza and doors open at 5 p.m. with special activities suitable for the whole family:

• Petting Zoo in the Children’s Zoo
• Symphony Instrument “Petting Zoo”
• Animal Encounters
• Buffet dinner, wine, and beer

At 7 p.m., gather for a very special concert with an animal twist presented by the San Diego Symphony.
