And (Big) Baby Makes… 12?!

Baby hippo at the Zoo. Play Video.

African river hippos Funani and Otis have made it a darling dozen—their 12th calf was born late last month at the San Diego Zoo! The curious cutie spends most of his time sticking close to mom, but visitors may still catch a glimpse of him as he expands his exploration of the exhibit's pool. Keepers call him "fearless," and he's certainly keeping Funani on her toes! The "little" boy is growing steadily, and is scheduled to be on exhibit with his mother on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays—if Funani says it's OK. Mother knows best!

It's a boy (hippo)!
