Extreme Close Up
 It’s not hard to take a good picture when all your sides are your good side—just ask 18-week-old Xiao Liwu (whose name means “little gift,”), our adorable panda cub. He’s become quite a handful during exams and photo shoots! He takes every chance to crawl, and as his confidence grows, so does his curiosity— at the last exam he wanted a nice close-up look at our photographer’s lens. He’s picture perfect!

 Leaping lemurs! The San Diego Zoo is building a new home for several species of this energetic, endearing primate. The new habitat will showcase some of Madagascar’s extraordinary animals and plants, and will also allow us to breed and increase zoo populations of rare lemur species. Please “leap forward” to help give lemurs the magnificent new home they deserve.

Got an iPad? Get the Panda Edition of Digital ZOONOOZ!
 San Diego Zoo Global’s magazine, ZOONOOZ, is now available in a digital format for download on an iPad, and November’s issue is a complete—and adorable—look at our giant pandas through the years. It includes profiles of every panda that has lived at the Zoo, video of all the cubs, first-person accounts from keepers, exclusive photos, and a story about our newest addition, Xiao Liwu. The digital ZOONOOZ is currently free to anyone and can be downloaded from the iPad App Store; search for San Diego Zoo ZOONOOZ. If you don’t have an iPad, you can still join the fun and see the story about the panda cubs online through our website.
