She’s an Overachiever: Trunk Show

Few would be happy to gain 40 pounds in 3 weeks, but if you’re the newest addition to the African elephant herd at the Safari Park, it’s great news! The “little” girl also quickly mastered use of her trunk, but she can still be a little clumsy on her feet. Luckily, she has devoted herd mates watching over her.

Aussie Adventure

San Diego Zoo Ambassador Rick Schwartz just returned from Australia, where he joined staff and collaborators working on a wild koala study. Of course, there’s much more to the Land Down Under than those iconic, eucalyptus-eating marsupials and Rick is sharing his observations, from humpback whales passing by to an incredible starry, starry night.

Get in the Spirit of Halloween

At the San Diego Zoo’s Spooky Sleepover, take a private bus tour around the shadowed Zoo, revel in a costume parade, make ghoulish Halloween crafts, and stay overnight for a brew of fun. And here's a treat (no trick!): members receive a $10 discount per person! Just use promotion code 225012 when you make your reservation. Call us at 619-718-3000—space is available October 13, October 20, and October 27.
